Beauty & The Olive Oil!

Olive oil is one of the most nourishing oils, it can be used in so many different ways for different purposes. I use it on my hair, body and eyes.

Keep reading on to find out how...

Olive Oil for the Eyes: (As eye make up remover & lash growth product) Get an empty bottle and fill it up 1/4 of the way with olive oil and 3/4 filtered mineral water, shake before use. This removes all of my eye make up very effectively, I have tried so many different branded products and some are way too harsh on my eyes. The residue is actually beneficial as it helps eyelash growth. Dabbing a little olive oil to the eyelashes each night can really help. You could even add a little to your facial moisturiser for the nightime as this will really penetrate the skin.

Olive Oil for the hair: Get an empty spritzer bottle and fill 3/4 of the way with olive oil. Then add a quite a few drops of avocado oil and almond oil until the bottle is full and shake well before use. How do I use it? I pump a few drops of the mixture to the ends of my hair each night and comb through, if i'm feeling upto it I will also give myself a scalp massage.

Olive Oil Face Mask: Blend together 1/4 banana, 1 teaspoon of Olive Oil & 1 teaspoon of freshly grated cucumber juice. Apply this on your face and wash off after 30 mins. This is excellent for sensitive skins!

Olive Oil for the body: I use the same mixture that I use for my hair and rub it into any dry areas such as, elbows & knees.

Exfoliator: If dry and scaly skin is a problem, mix olive oil and sea salt  and rub and massage it into the affected area to slough off dead skin and enrich the healthy layer beneath it. Or add a few tablespoons of olive oil with a drop or two of lavender essential oil in a bath. This is a luxurious way to relax, soothe and moisturize the whole body.

Nail and Cuticle Care: Extra virgin olive oil makes the perfect, simple solution for dry nails and cuticles. Simply rub a few drops into the cuticle area and around the nail. Cuticles stay plump and moist, and nails respond with a natural shine.

Soothe Sunburns: For painful sunburns, olive oil can be used to help soothe your painfully reddened skin.  Mix olive oil with an equal amount of water. Beat until it becomes an emulsion. Apply to the affected area. For blisters, make a compress of warm olive oil and chamomile tea. Apply to the blistered area.

Stretch Marks: While it is difficult to prevent stretch marks, here are a couple of anti-stretch mark formulas that will not only soothe a new mother’s ever expanding skin, but according to some women, stretch marks may actually lessen, when applied daily.
Anti-Stretch Mark Formula #1: Apply a mixture of equal parts of warm Extra Virgin Olive Oil and pure cocoa butter on the stomach, buttocks and breast areas.
Anti-Stretch Mark Formula #2: Combine the following: ½ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil, ½ cup aloe vera gel & 6 capsules Vitamin E oil (opened). Keep refrigerated; warm the cream before applying. Apply daily

Hair Removal: If you shave with a blade, try to use olive oil instead of shaving cream to protect your skin and the razor slide well.

Cracked Heels: Rub some Olive oil onto your cracked heels, wrap some cling/glad wrap around it and place a sock on it. This will help soften the dead skin and heal it.

I hope this can help some of you. Remember its not always the expensive products that work, go back to the basics and natural ways to heal and keep your skin and health in check!

Much Love & Peace Xx
