Photo's Of The Week!

As promised 5 weeks ago... here are the pictures for the Wani Spring/Summer photoshoot. The makeup was bold, artistic and very daring! It definitely demands attention and the results were just amazing! The designer had some inspiration pictures that I took from and changed colours, shapes and tweaked it considerably to make it unique and fresh! The colours were very earthy and warm toned. Brows were kept very natural & soft and were barely filled in. 2012 trends of strong blush, bold orange lips & strong mod eye can be seen considerably.

New Years Resolution: Lorna Jane

So to start off the new year and my quest to lose the 10kgs I have slowly put on over the past 14 months.. I had to kick start my motivation by getting some sexy gear to work out in! My hubby shouted me to a treat and I had no budget to stick to! It was only afterwards that he realised just how expensive Lorna Jane pieces can be! So let me share with you the gorgeous items I picked up.. I lovvve watermelon and blue is a complementing colour, so I decided to get multiple pieces that I could change up and wear with each other. I picked up two bottoms, 1 pair of gorgeous blue shorts and a pair of black with matching blue trim long compression tights. I then bought 4 singlets that I could wear with both bottoms, 1 long sleeve grey hoodie and a watermelon crop top and cap. All the items except for the cap are fade and shrink resistant!

New Years Eve Party Makeup

My Gorgeous Client wanted to have a Leopardish eye for New Years! Nothing too bold or editorial, and more wearable. I had to really work the foundation as she had severe acne and acne scars and holes. Her skin looked amazing afterwards and she looked sexy! Her dress was more of a green based animal print so I decided to pop some green into the spots and steered away from the traditional fiery Orange-copper that I would normally use..

How can you not LOVE Iris Apfel?! Through the years she’s always maintained her eccentric fabulous style and no matter what is an icon in every fashionable sense! Her collaboration with MAC makes every one before seem slightly boring] & proves beauty can be at any age. I love the ad campaign featuring Iris Apfel, she looks so chic! I love red lips and nails, hot! I also love the use of intense colors and I have to buy every single one of those lipsticks! I love the fact that they are so vibrant, from orange, pink, red–no matter your preference, there is a color for you! The collection will be available from January 5, 2012 through February 9, 2012.

The Kardashian Kristmas Kard was shot by Nick Saglimbeni.. 

Kim may be standing tall and alone in this years Kardashian Kristmas Kard, however, she looks stunning as ever. Even though you would normally find Kim wearing a form-fitting dress or outfit, she decided to tone it down a notch this year by going with a suited and booted look along with the rest of her family. Besides her fashion, her makeup was just amazing! I loved the double liner and felt that is was very Arabic inspired! I have done very similar looks but with a nude lip.. I just have to recreate this look!

Gisele Bündchen looks absolutely exquisite in the Ad Campaign for Versace spring 2012 collection. The campaign was shot by world renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in the Sonoran desert of Borrego Springs, California. 

From the sultry blue hues of the photography, Gisele’s innate sexiness to the impeccable styling of the shoot, this whole collaboration couldn’t have made for a more enticing ad campaign. Where that Versace woman looks absolutely phenomenal! This blue world captures Gisele and Ryan Barrett about to step into a pool – fully clothed, in some rooted Versace looks from the Gianni era – studs and bold prints and all. I love it!

BEWARE: Spot Fake MAC Products!

This is going to be a seriously long, but hopefully helpful post. Clearly, there are lots of people who attempt to buy MAC cosmetics from eBay. This is a mistake. Yes, there are sellers who sell authentic MAC, but that’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack. 

Once upon a time, it was actually safer to buy MAC items from eBay…it wasn’t as easy as it is now to buy a total fake. It happened, but not as frequently as it does now. In fact, nowadays you’re 10x’s more likely to purchase a counterfeit item, than a real one. If I could physically show you what’s wrong with the fakes on eBay, I would. But I’m going to try my best to explain to you what to look for.

My NYE Dress Arrived Today!

Featuring a sweetheart neckline with notched detail to the front, ruffled short sleeves, ruching to the sides, fitted high waist with peplum frill and concealed zip to reverse. I just lovvved the dress when I saw it online and had to get it! The quality is great! Best thing about it is that I bought it for half price!!! So I decided to grab a pair of wedges on sale for a bargain as well :)

The Headscarf Makes It's Comeback...

For those with a willingness to experiment and a desire to stand out from the crowd, the humble headscarf makes its return, pushing the tuban aside and taking on a casual air.  Look over all the trends for spring 2012 and those which are being carried into autumn/fall 2012 and you’ll find amongst them revivals of 1930s, 1960s and 1970s fashion. While not all of the fashion revived from each decade are compatible, the headscarf certainly is. And so 2012 provides something of a perfect opportunity for the headscarf to become fashionable yet again!!
